Actually run after hitting it (the pitchers mound actually acted as the location you tried to force him out on ground balls). But agree on no catcher/pitching to own team with meatballs. If there was a play at the plate someone had to cover due to no catcher.

Your version of Indian ball sounds basically like wiffle ball played with a baseball
