Even with prime TV networks/slots, average viewership is down to about 600K and attendance at games outside of STL are in the 4 figures. You never even see it on at bars despite nothing else really going on.

I don't think spring football will ever work until the NFL gets involved. Move the draft back to late March and have it be an 8 team deal where teams can send low draft picks/practice squad/undrafted rookies...as well as a place for free agents to get noticed. Play a little 5-6 game schedule, top 2 teams play for the championship. Done by Memorial Day. Put it in places like Portland, OKC, Birmingham, Albuquerque, Des Moines that would probably welcome some NFL affiliation.
