A comment about Jackson's strategy:

The MU pitching staff gives up an average of nearly 11 runs per game in SEC Conference games. In the 2nd inning of today's game with the Tigers up 2-0, they had a runner on 1st with no outs and the batter tried to sacrifice him to 2nd base. And as usually happens he screwed it up and struck out.

My comment is that I think it's incredibly stupid to be playing for one run in the 2nd inning (which is what you are doing when you are sacrificing) when your pitching staff surrenders so many runs per game.
