brilliant man I have ever met. He seldom wore matching socks and I don't think he ever combed his hair.

I would have never thought to ask him how he voted because, like many scientists, his focus was totally on his field.

Why do people on the left believe everyone is smarter than them and look for them to validate their beliefs? Wait, never mind, when you are dumb as a box of hammers, it's probably a good idea not to think too much for yourself.
