absentee from Bum Fck VN in 1972. Yes--you could vote absentee from wherever you were stationed He won one state and lost 49. I was hardly in the majority---not a big McGovern fan--- but hated Nixon

My first GOP vote was for Reagan against Carter in 1980 having voted for Carter in 1976
