Illegals who commit crimes can be charged and imprisoned. Deportation skips justice for the victims. Once their time is served, they can be deported.
Immigration hearings never make it up to the Supreme Court, unless there is some very unusual case.
A habeas petition doesn’t usually take long for the judiciary to review. It’s only when there is an error committed by the Immigration Court that it goes beyond a rubber stamp to deport.
