more illegal immigrants than they can possibly vet or process.
That hardly seems to be a straw man argument.
Overwhelming the system and doing everything they can to make it impossible or close to impossible to deport them has been a Democrat strategy, presumably to increase the percentages of people who will vote for Democratic candidates.
That is a gravely immoral tactic in my book.
Judge Dugan appears to be aiding and abetting the escape of criminal illegal immigrants from the immigration system. That is another immoral link in the chain of immoral actions for an immoral strategic goal.
