There's a reason universities have to raise funds privately, but for some reason (probably the fact that more than half this country is dumb as $hit) people think that state universities "don't need the money."

They're businesses just like anything else, with thousands of employees and they are literally the lifeblood to the communities where they exist (in most cases).

Please explain why this message is being reported.
