for the past 10-15 years whenever I wanted a good Bourbon, I've decided to branch out to try some new stuff and apparently I now need some professional help...
Bourbon Purchases over the past ~ 6 months
- Ben Holladay Soft Red Wheat
- Penelope Wheated
- Bardstown Bourbon Co Origin High Wheat
- Russel's 10 year
- Michters Small Batch
- Green River Full Proof
- Woodford Double-Oaked
- Redwood Empire 101 Proof
- New Riff Single Barrell
- Knob Creek 12 year
Kinda disappointed with the current state of Buffalo Trace. Used to be a readily available, common Bourbon 10-15 years ago. Nows its f*cking allocated and impossible to find in the KC area. Not to mention all of their "higher end" brands like Eagle Rare, Stagg, Blantons, Weller, EH Taylor, etc. Impossible.
The only one of those bottles above that I've actually finished so far was the Michters...it was phenomenal. The Woodford Double Oaked will be gone next. Would like to try the Woodford Double Double Oaked but not at its ~$180 price point. All of those above are $30-$60 whiskeys, nothing nuts.
