Not everyone wants tariffs gone. UAW doesn’t want free trade

They want tariffs so they can be building all the cars here. So if you get free trade, then you lose labor unions and their workers.

If the tariffs drag on, people suffer, and you start losing even more of the voters. Manufacturing doesn’t come back overnight. It takes several years. And there is no guarantee businesses won’t just wait out until Trump is gone.
