they can get them made more cheaply in Asia. So who is the US going to export to?

You’d have entire industries that can only serve internal consumption. But internal consumption plummets because people can’t afford to buy as much. Then comes job loss and downward pressure on wages.

What are you going to do then? No one wants to buy your stuff on the global market. You’re losing internal customers because less and less people can afford it. Job loss and income loss.

Everyone is poorer, but hey.. at least we buy American.
