they have always been a bit underrated in basketball IMO but it seems like they really have put an emphasis on it the last eight or nine years. Now in addition to Kentucky and Arkansas as traditional powers you have Florida Auburn and Alabama as powerhouse teams plus A & M, Ole Miss etc.
I would question Missouri's talent level as being on par with the top schools. They managed some nice regular season wins but in the SEC tournament and NCAA tournament they were pretty bad. That's where top tier coaching and top tier talent does matter. Not a home game with a revved up crowd and guys hitting ridiculous threes.
