Has Mizzou really underperformed in the NCAA Tournament?

Among Mizzou fans, it's "common" theory that Mizzou underperforms in the tourney. Let's look at the facts since 1990 (all stats include the 1994 vacated season/tourney)

Mizzou has made the tournament 19 times since 1990: 8 times they've lost in the first round. However, seedings matter and Mizzou is the 2nd most of all teams that have been seeded in the 7-10 slot with 10 of those 19 season Mizzou seeded in those dreaded locations. 53% of our tournament appearances!!!

Mizzou has only been seeded 1-5 6 times.

Mizzou has also made the sweet 16 5 times, which its not too bad considering how ****ty our history of seedings are. For example:

Arizona has been seeded 1-5 19 times, but only made 15 sweet 16s
Syracuse has been seeded 1-5 19 times as well, but only made 14 sweet 16s
Arkansas has been seeded 1-5 12 times, and 10 sweet 16s
Michigan State has been seeded 1-5 19 times, and 18 sweet 16s
UCLA 1-5 seeds 15 times, and 16 sweet 16s
Kansas 1-5 sees 26 times, and 21 sweet 16s

Seeding Matters, has Mizou choked a few times yes, but it isn't nearly as "often" as everyone believes.
