unfortunately, a good portion of our fan base can't see past the end of their nose when it comes to evaluating the state of the program
as you said, using the tournament to gauge success is stupid. It's a great event, but also one that is a crapshoot where the best team rarely wins. Look at NC State last year. They limped in to the tournament, got the right matchups, got hot, and then they were a below .500 team this year that fired their coach less than a year after making a final four. Those that are intelligent know not too much all your marbles in this basket.
