I wished John Wooden would’ve yelled and shown more intensity. Probably would’ve won 12 nattys.
Personally, I think Gates has worked the refs more this year. He’d be a better coach with 1 or 2 more guys that are are 6’8” plus that are athletic and can play on both ends of the floor in the interior. For me, what separates Mizzou from the top teams in SEC are the better interior dudes they bring to the table. Mizzou has Mitchell and that’s about it. Pierce and Crews play small. Gray and Marshall are big bodies with minimal skills. If Mizzou wants to take a next step, recruiting better guys that can play in the paint while maintaining good perimeter guys has to be the next step. Frankly, if Mitchell is not back, they are going to be a mess again like the Ofer 23-24 team that had nobody worth a darn in the paint. Gonna have to portal some dudes.
