For allowing an easement on their property. They will not lose much of their tillable land so the decrease in production would be minimal. They are paying farmers not to grow with CRP now.

2. Wind farms suck for generation in general. Building transmission lines just to get wind farm power would be a colossal waste of money. If they were used for transmission for all types of power generation that would be a different arguement.
