Power transmission lines would run across the entire state of MO to connect wind farms in Kansas to power grids throughout the midwest and eastern half of the country.
Missouri's AG is fighting the project tooth & nail mainly because it's trying to confiscate Missouri farm land through eminent domain.
A few questions...
(1) Will it lower the yield of those farms and thus the farming revenue of the state? And if so, how is the state being compensated for that?
(2) Will the wind farms in Kansas generate revenue for the state of Kansas? And if so, is Missouri getting a cut of that revenue as compensation for allowing the power transmission lines to run through its state?
In general, who's making money from this? Is Missouri being adequately compensated for the loss of valuable farmland and the revenue it generates? Or, are other states benefitting at Missouri's expense?
