A lot of that lsd got spilt over into the scene. The gratefully dead's supplier was getting it from a cia associate too. But it wasn't associated with any program. Just like the Crack epidemic, it was an unintended off-shoot.

Manson was just fried, had dumb, drug-addled bimbos with him and thought the Beatles were talking to him through the White Album
