Yeah, there are still a few Schottel family members in the area, but none from Wehrli's family. I got acquainted with Steve when he was coaching at MoJoJuCo in the mid to late 70s. I knew Ivan was his Dad, but I didn't know he was an assistant coach at Western. He seemed to run with the same crowd of 20 year olds I was associated with. Might have had something to do with all the pretty gals. Later I heard he was on the staff of either Powers or Widenhofer at Mizzou. That would have been in the 80s. By then, I was married, working, had two kids and was too busy to keep track of friends from the 70s.
