At a certain point potential injury and depth development is completely disregarded. Your best possible team on the field or floor at all times for the stretch run.

Gates doesn't ever get to that point nor does he even utilize a true 'best' lineup because that would mean sacrificing his beloved guards playing time for more defense and rebounding.
