that would very likely lead to WWIII or an ignominious defeat on the battlefields with additional tragic loss of lives and of Ukrainian land.

The Ukrainian army has been in a meatgrinder for years. They're running out of men, and many on the front lines are deserting. Russia is relentlessly destroying what is left of their infrastructure and moving forward taking ever more land. Strategic cities are falling ever more quickly, and that is all with hundreds of billions in aid from the US and NATO. That dynamic will not change if the war continues.
What do you want the US & their NATO allies to do? Escalate the war further? Pour far more good money after bad?
What would escalation entail? Spending additional $ trillions instead of just $ hundreds of billions to up the ante? Sending in US army troops to face off on the front lines? Strategic nukes?
What is your plan? What do you think that the outcome would be if you could call some of the macro level shots as to how much to escalate the spending and US involvement?
