attacked Mexico, do you think that Mexico would have the right under international law to completely wipe out New Mexico (assuming they had the power or the backing of a superpower to do so), killing multitudes of women and children in the process, levelling most neighborhoods, before going in and expelling or killing everyone there who was still alive, and then annexing New Mexico now as Mexican territory?

Regardless of international law, do you think they at least have the "moral right" to do so?
