difference.
As if spending hundreds of billions in weapons to send to Zelenski was not really a huge cost to the US taxpayers instead of giving hundreds of billions of $ to Zelenski to buy weapons on his own.
Yeah, maybe it enriched the military industrial complex, and some of the ammo & supplies were dated and less valuable than the newer stuff they wanted to replace it with, but it was still hundreds of billions spent with the final result being huge destruction to Ukraine, the loss of lives of at least 10s of thousands of people, severe injuries to hundreds of thousands of others, and millions of lives disrupted in a massive, very deleterious way, whether from leaving their country under severe duress and becoming refugees, to losing children, husbands, brothers, nephews, homes, businesses and so on.
Those who remained have lived in great distress for years in a war torn country with the constant threat of death, and often without electricity, or even heat in the winter. The infrastructure of their country is in shambles, with nothing to show for it, other than the likelihood that their country will be giving up much/most of the mineral rights they had before this catastrophic fiasco for their families, their society and their country.
Way to go war mongers.
