Here's what I would do, if I was serious about turning the program around and making it able to win consistently at a high level, and compete for SEC and national titles.
As soon as the season ends, I'd contact the head coaches at the top ten programs and ask: "If you could choose a current assistant head coach who's not one of your own assistants, who would it be?"
I'd start my search there ad try to get a clear vision of how they'd recruit better talent and develop players that won't turn the ball overs 15-20 times a game.
I say top ten head coaches because they seem to all have good assistants and staff who will more likely know what it takes to win consistently at a high level.
Of course, it all depends on what the administration is seeking. Do they want a top-ten type of program, pr another version of RP? They've never (or at least rarely) shown that they're willing to invest in the program. Now's their chance to do so.
