Somehow a team that was 4 games over .500 in an SEC with one ranked team is better than a team that is 5 games over .500 in an SEC with nine ranked teams.

According to your post, he missed five games and we went 3–2 in those five games. And the two losses were absolute blowouts where it’s hard to make a case that one player made that much difference.
