I don't think biological men should play in women's sports. If I was running a league and got to decide, I would not allow that to happen. I will encourage my daughters to play in sports leagues where that is not occuring (if I have the choice). I will try and educate them about the possibility and how to navigate it.
My stance is that it's not up to the government. It's not political. And, it's not a widespread issue that has drastic consequences (like the terrorist attacks and school shootings that you brought up)This is happening all over the world. If enough people held the same opinion I did, I don't think any leagues would allow it.
Yes, the story of the 2nd place pole vaulter in Maine is sad. But I have a hard time caring when everyone knows it wasn't a fair competition and nobody is going to fault the 2nd place person because of it.
