government regulations that are antithetical to free market capitalism.

The free market solution is to abolish those government regulations so that college sports can get back to governing itself.

The NCAA should be able to set its own rules, and if players (labor) don't like the rules, they can play (work) elsewhere.

That's how a free market works. Instead, the government (through "antitrust laws" and "labor laws") is dictating how a company operates and the policies it sets for its employees.
