used to be in the day you could then fly directly to STL when we weren't a flight backwater. Used to fly about 50,000 miles a year on TWA. Twice a month to LA alone. You could fly even overseas from STL. Now Chicago or Charlotte is about it

I was in Lisbon when TWA sale to American announced. The flight attendant gave me a handful of stuff they sold to passengers like aircraft models (even have my coffee cup/saucer) from that day. Still have them in my office
