Trade deficits are not problematic unless either unemployment is high or the currency is weak. And since unemployment is low and the Dollar is King, trade deficits are not damaging to our country in the least. It simply means American businesses are buying more imports than they’re selling exports. That does not harm our country, and in fact it means our citizens are able to buy things more cheaply than they otherwise could.
