I feel bad for them, it was a disaster at a horrific scale. And there will be people in LA 4 months from now who need dire help as well. It's unfortunate but it's the scale of the disaster.

That highlights that the last thing we need to is tell the states that they need to be ready to go it alone (which is something Trump has been hinting at - and he has said as much). And it will be poorer red states that get hurt the most be eliminating the possibility of federal aid.
