if they would rather get raped or get 5 years in prison. The obvious answer is neither.

The question from the perpetrator side is whether or not committing the rape is worth the possibility of getting caught and sentenced to prison. The offender believed the chances of not getting caught were worth the risk.

It is a really stupid question.
