SC aside, we’ve really had a reasonable schedule in the first 4 games. It gets way tougher, immediately.
In the next 6 games, we play Tennessee at home and Texas, LSU and Oklahoma on the road. If we lost to Florida at home by 26, those 4 games are of course unwinnable and will be really ugly.
The only “breathers” we get in the next 6 games are at Auburn and Miss St at home. Not saying we win either of those, but those teams aren’t near as powerful as the other 4 mentioned. Still, winning either of those games would take our best effort of the year.
Auburn is the worse team of the two, but we play them on the road. They are also 0-4 in the SEC, like us, having lost to Ole Miss by 27 and Kentucky by 19, but also only lost by 10 on the road at LSU. Then of course they lost at home to an awful Arkansas team, which gives me hope we could beat them. But they also lost to #18 Cal on the road by just 4 points. So a mixed bag.
Miss St we get at home, but they are way better than Auburn. Currently just outside the AP top 25 at #27. Got routed by SC and Kentucky, but had a close loss to #17 GT by 3 points, and has 2 top 25 wins, over #13 Oklahoma and #23 Utah.
That all adds up to me to an 0-10 start in the SEC, with the only faint hopes for a win coming against Auburn or Miss St.
