hypocritical. He's saying it is psychotic to not put myself in the shoes of a pedophile and have empathy for them (does he do this with someone who thinks government is helpful and not big enough?). This is presumptuous, and appears to be a childish fit over this piece not changing my opinion of pedophiles. Just because this piece was written doesn't mean I must change my opinion of pedophiles.
There have been several instances on this board where I have questioned other beliefs/opinions of mine, and even changed some. Pedophilia is one of those opinions of mine that this fluff piece in Salon isn't going to change. That's not being irrational, it's being what some might call principled.
