Once upon a time we relied on experts to provide the research and journalists to present the research, but those sources have failed us on occasion.

So we now reject traditional “sources of truth,” and are left with no option but to form our own opinions based on “alternative facts” that confirm our previously help beliefs. We are further somehow compelled to share those opinions with strangers on an internet message board.

And so it shall be done.
