NW-State of the Southland Conference.
So then I took a step back and looked at Mizzou's entire non-con schedule.
We only played 3 opponents with a pulse:
• Memphis
• Kansas (9-3, with all 3 losses to unranked opponents)
• Illinois
We're 1-2 against those opponents, and none of them are elite teams.
The other 10 opponents are as follows:
• AR Pine Bluff
• Mississippi Valley State
• Eastern Washington
• Pacific
• Howard
• Cal
• Lindenwood
• Long Island
• AL State
• Jax State
All at home.
That's a truly abysmal non-conference slate.
Fortunately, the SEC is extremely strong this year.
That means we'll probably make the 68-team tournament if Gates can go 8-10 or better in league play.
We bought him enough talent over the off-season to easily achieve that. We also have one of the easier schedules in the SEC (rated 15/16 within the conference) which should also help -
