Until this year, Texas was a Big XII team….

But they sucked BECAUSE they were Big XII, or so goes the logic.
Let’s face it: the landscape is changing. This doesn’t mean the SEC is less difficult, but the other guys can compete. And this is good for the game.
I will never understand love for a conference, as if a Tennessee win or an Auburn win somehow benefits Mizzou. I will always cheer against Tennessee and Auburn, and seeing Bama humbled is wonderful (though I do despise Michigan). Georgia lost because ND was better, at least last night.
These things go in cycles. Maybe the SEC is down right now, maybe. I find the fact that the SEC loyalists are pinning their hopes on Texas, whom many on this board predicted would flop once they moved up to the big time of SEC football, a tad ironic.
