the revenue split of about 50/50 between management and players seems to be where most about fall in line.

The problem is that there are really no "owners" in college, so no one is putting their personal wealth at risk, so it is a bit more difficult to determine. But the OP is correct. Since the mega conferences have been expanding and with new tv contracts, revenue has skyrocketed, and the management side has vastly benefitted.
