if they really want to improve the defense.
Mizzou's linebackers and defensive ends were just not great this past year. It felt like everyone had to cheat up to compensate for it. There is nobody in the linebacker group that routinely puts big hits on folks, and there were entire games where it seemed the d-line could not get to the quarterback. And how many times did the safety get caught with their pants down, watching a receiver run past them for a big play?
Maybe Batoon isn't coaching them up very well, or maybe they just don't have the level of talent needed to make it all work great.
It seemed like every time Mizzou needed to shut down a team with a few minutes left, they were completely unable to stop a fast tempo offense on the final drive. That is on the d-line. That needs to get fixed.
