90% of the headlines out there about "so-and-so pays QB recruit eleventy billion dollars!" are total BS layered on top of flimsy verbal promises that are nowhere near legit. the vast majority of these arrangements between collectives and players and agents are based on winks and nods and never come to fruition. id Mizzou is doing a good job of facilitating legit arrangements with binding contracts between players and advertisers, that's a good thing, and relatively rare.
the kids who have real deals are the ones who contract directly with an advertiser. the collectives with real weight are the ones who connect players directly to advertisers. the programs who will do well are the ones who are tied into well-CONNECTED collectives, not necessarily the best "funded" collectives. because a well-funded collective is simply a sham.
