So I talked to my guys that are barely still in the show and the know. In random order
Carius Curne was kinda close to coming back out way..but LSU met the price..Blake Baker got involved. This kid is headed towards a 5th star and could very well start as a Frosh next year. Really improved his sr year.
Oklahoma has a kid on the roster that is portaling out on Monday, he's from Texas and it's between us, Baylor, and maybe another SEC school. That's all I got, no name.
Mizzou might surprise with a low ranked kid north of me near New Port Richey. Apparently he has really came on his sr yr after an injury plagued Jr year. It's a position we have covered in our class, but Mizzou likes his upside.
And finally, there are atleast 2 homestate guys who went to big time programs coming home, *if* they transfer. Again, no names..but assured me I'd be thrilled.
Finally, & this was the reason I made the post..and ties in to the previous line..he said expect a lot of transfers to visit, but be cautious. Mizzou has earned a reputation for paying top dollar, but also..PAYING WHAT THEY HAVE PROMISED. Apparently, there has been some shady doings at various SEC programs. While that's good, these kids or their agents are using us as a 3rd party leverage against other, possibly preferred schools.
In my opinion, if that is the word on the street...then we get more "street cred". It only helps us recruit. But it might get some..overly excited..remember they're kids..they change their minds..and parents and agents are becoming a real problem. Also went on to say...this off-season may be the last of the wild, wild west of recruiting/transfer NIL deals..so expect the ridiculous as kids chase waterfalls for the last possible payday or time. No one is sure what deal or arrangement will be in place, as the proposed settlement is still far from being finalized...but all members of all conferences want some control over the chaos
Stay tuned.
