Clay Cooper, was Chuck's position coach at Mizzou. Dad was very fond of Chuck, both as a person and as an excellent, hard-hitting safety. The DBs from that era were notorious for how ferociously they tackled. I was on the sidelines for the 1972 Colorado game when 165 lb. cornerback John Moseley laid out much heavier CU tight end J.V. Cain with a hit so hard that it separated Cain's shoulder, knocking him out of the game.

Back to Chuck Banta . . . As I recall, Chuck's family owned a fruit distribution company in Springfield. Is that correct?
