I don’t think most people care that the WNBA or a woman’s soccer league or any other such entity is subsidized and does not actually make money. If the people footing the bill want to spend their money that way because a small number of people buy the product, That is completely fine with me. Has absolutely no impact on my life.
The problem comes when we have a media barrage telling us that that product is something more than it really is.
I refuse to turn on SportsCenter and have WNBA crammed down my throat when I know I can see a better game by going to a local high school or even the rec center.
