But think about this, how would that actually play out? That’s when I think your sentiment starts to fall apart.
If we do that, we are limiting ourselves to a qualified head coach who is actually out of work now, right? Because no qualified head coach is going to quit on their current team in the middle of this season. Maybe a top assistant might if you threw a ton of money at them. But is that a Mizzou thing? To pay the going price for a really good coach?
The time to hire a coach is at the end of the season when the musical chairs process starts.
By not buying out the last year of her contract last spring we have doomed ourselves to another awful recruiting year.
