1) everyone is a "project" to a certain extent, unless you're hiring a successful, sitting P4 HC which isn't happening
2) has it been confirmed it was Drink that did this? I haven't seen him commenting at all. Yes, it probably wasn't aTm but that doesn't mean Drink did it or was even aware of it before the fact. The most likely scenario was it was his position coach or possible analyst/asst. position coach and Drink wasn't even aware until after the fact. And yeah, blaming Cook's comments on his is quite a stretch. They weren't even inflammatory comments.
I think you summarized why you feel the way you do, the game sucked and you're looking for reasons other than we got our ass kicked to justify it.
