First, I’m not saying anything about how I believe RP is thinking or what she is going to do. This is my opinion about what I think she should do. Not at all what she is planning to do.
Im saying if we don’t have an effective point guard in the classic sense or definition, simply don’t play one of the 4 point guards, and start and give significant playing time to our best 5 players, who I named. Several of them have perfectly adequate skills to bring the ball up the court and get us into our offense (whatever that offensive scheme is; it’s hard for me to tell sometimes since the play I’ve seen run quite often seems to be one or two players dribble the ball around a lot then throw up a desperation shot with the shot clock running down, or, just let the shot clock expire). I’ve seen that so many times I think it must be a planned play with a name.
The 5 best players I named have decent size, 6’3, 6’2, 6’1, 6’0, 5’11, and decent athleticism and quickness. Notice I said decent not great. Most of the best SEC teams always have more quickness and athleticism than our mid size players, that's been a fact for a long time.
Back to my original question, what do you think our starting lineup will or should be? I’m genuinely interested in the opinions of others here regarding that.
