back in my HS, the "normal" math track was

8th Grade - Geometry & just some normal math class
9th grade - freshman algebra(pre-algebra?)
10th grade - Algebra 1
11th Grade - Trig/Algebra 2
12th Grade - Pre-calc (or some alternate math like physics)

Advanced students:

8th Grade - Pre-Algebra/Geometry
9th Grade - Algebra 1
10th Grade - Trig/Algebra 2
11th Grade - Pre-calc /Theoretical Physics
12 Grade - AP Calc /AP Physics
