I wish they'd included the fact that the reason Brewer held "homecoming" was that new conference rules wouldn't allow the game between MU and kansas to be held in KC, requiring all conference games to be on member campuses. Playing alumi teams and chump opponents wasn't at the heart of it for Mizzou. We played our biggest rival and there was already huge passion behind that game.

Credit to Illinois for scheduling U of Chicago, an excellent football program in the early days of the sport.
