and use their troops regularly as cannon fodder. They are regularly trying to take areas that are heavily fortified by Ukrainians. It's been a war of attrition for certain strategic cities (Bakmut, etc.). In trying to take these cities, Russia has relied, as it always has, on sheer numbers.

Are you familiar with any of that?

That number is killed, wounded or MIA. Absolutely that could be a legit number, if not higher.
