The players run on emotion. Being up, maybe the other teams gets tight. That noncall brought atm up for sure. People here all said WTF, so that's the way it's going to be? You think the players thought differently? They were told next play and all that coach jargon but when you play, you get a feeling quickly this is our day or not.
With that said, it's hard believing added emotion would have made this defense 1000% better or Cook more accurate. There's something wrong with him. They played him with a torn labrium, which was ridiculous. You don't go from decent to bad in college football do you?
