at 31 yo had several Golden Gloves seasons ahead of him, or at least the Phillies thought so, or they wouldn’t have essentially traded their franchise player, Richie Allen, for him. Players in their prime win Golden Gloves. He may not have reached 12 in a row, but at least he would have added to his total, which is my point. But in the end, I would defer to the Phillies’ judgement over the opinions of two latter day online speculators.

I’m still ****ed that the Cardinals had to substitute Bobby Tolan for Flood, even though Tolan never lived up to his potential.
